The Joshua Center
At Bring the Light Ministries, we believe in restoring hope and transforming lives. The Joshua Center is our bold response to the homelessness crisis in Dallas. Designed as a group residential housing facility, this 24,000-square-foot renovated space offers individuals a pathway to sobriety, stability, and a brighter future.
The Joshua Center is more than a shelter—it’s a place of healing, growth, and opportunity. Through a faith-based 2.5-year program, we provide residents with the tools they need to create sustainable lives and reintegrate into society.

What We Offer
The Joshua Center is built on the foundation of “Prodigal Son Hospitality,” where everyone is treated with dignity, care, and love. Our program includes:
- Faith-Based Recovery: A traditional 12-Step program that fosters spiritual and personal growth.
- Education & Job Training: Helping residents build the skills they need for meaningful employment.
- Community & Employment Opportunities: Establishing connections within The Joshua Center and beyond to support reintegration into society.
This unique approach creates a safe, nurturing environment where individuals can heal, learn, and thrive.
Our Progress
We’ve already seen incredible breakthroughs in making The Joshua Center a reality:
- Zoning Secured: In Summer 2024, we received zoning approval for the property, allowing us to move forward with building permits.
- Dedicated Funds: We’ve established a secure financial system to ensure every dollar raised goes directly to The Joshua Center.
These milestones are a testament to the miracles that have brought us this far. Now, we need your help to take the next steps.
Our Funding Goals
To make this vision a reality, we need your support. Our total fundraising goal is $1,000,000, which will be allocated as follows:
- Mortgage Payoff: $700,000
- Building Permits & Engineering Costs: $160,000
- Building Project Reserve Fund: $100,000
100% of all donations go directly to The Joshua Center and its related expenses. Every dollar counts in transforming lives.
Our Development Plan
The Joshua Center will grow in phases to meet the needs of specific populations in our community. Here’s what’s coming:
Phase 1:
Renovating the nursing home to accommodate:
- 80 residents in the group residential facility.
- 10 live-in staff members to support the program.
Phase 2:
Building a dedicated facility for women escaping sex trafficking, providing them with safety and specialized care.
Phase 3:
Developing a home tailored for homeless veterans, offering a supportive environment to rebuild their lives.
Phase 4:
Creating the largest group residential facility for:
- Women who have completed the program.
- Reuniting these women with their children in a supervised environment to support family restoration.
