Jesús M. Cantú Aldrete was born on May 11, 1943, in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico, to Eusebio and Nena Cantú. In December 1964, Jesús married the love of his life, Elizabeth Caballero, embarking on a journey that would take them through several cities, including their hometown of Ciudad Acuña, Mexico City, Del Rio, Texas, and ultimately settling in Laredo, Texas. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joys of raising a family. They were blessed with four children: Jesús M. Cantú, Jr., Elizabeth C. Rodriguez, Maria Luisa Fitzsimmons, and Georgina Melendez.

Despite his success, Jesús remained grounded, always putting the needs of his family and clients first.
In addition to his work in investments, Jesús embraced his passion for bringing people together through hospitality and travel. He launched a successful travel agency, where he shared his love for exploration with others, helping clients create unforgettable journeys. Always thinking of innovative ways to engage his community, he also opened J. Jr’s Restaurant, a lively and welcoming space where family, friends, and patrons could gather to enjoy great food and camaraderie.
