John (Jack) Fitzsimmons Jr., beloved husband, brother, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 31, 2024 in Dallas, TX at the age of 66. He faced his final days with strength and dignity.
Born August 30, 1958 in Oak Park, IL, to Jack and Lorie Fitzsimmons, Jack lived a life full of love and was loved by all who knew him.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Pam Fitzsimmons; his children, Meghan Felter (Danny), Johnny Fitzsimmons (Jordan), Kevin Fitzsimmons, and Kathryn Fitzsimmons; his 7 grandchildren, Eliana, Sloan, Rusty, Quinn, Zeke, Gabe, and Siena; his siblings, Kathy Fitzsimmons (Mary Beth) and Earl Fitzsimmons (Maria); his father, John Fitzsimmons, Sr.; and his many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Jack graduated from Dallas Jesuit in 1976, Spring Hill College in 1980, and SMU Law School in 1991. He returned to Dallas Jesuit, where he worked for over 35 years, serving in many roles and impacting many lives. To those who knew him, he was a Coach, stemming from his time as a basketball coach but spilling into his roles as a counselor, mentor, and friend. He loved spending time with his family, playing golf, hunting or fishing with friends, and spent most of his life surrounded by sports. But he was happiest being in service of friends, members of his community, and even strangers. A true Man for Others, his legacy of selfless love will have a lasting impact on the many family members, friends, colleagues, and students who knew him. “Truly a Man for Others!”
